Croatia and Host City
Welcome to Croatia, and Rovinj - your host city
The country of a thousand islands, a small country for a great holiday, the Mediterranean as it once was – these are the most popular slogans associated with Croatia.
Situated at the meeting point of great cultures and civilisations and various geographic and climatic landscapes, Croatia is a true European oasis. Each region differs by culture, local customs, dialect, climate, lifestyle and gastronomy.
There are few places in the world where you can see such beauty, wealth and variety in such a small country. Within Croatia, Istria is renowned as a very special destination – although small, this wonderful peninsula concealed by the sea and mountains offers plenty of history, culture, architecture and gastronomy.
Green hills adorned by olive groves, abundant vineyards, magnificent medieval castles, ancient monuments, pretty Venetian towns, rare white truffles, full-bodied Malvasian wine, the sparkly sea and a seemingly never-ending coast line are just some of Istria’s idyllic highlights.
